McHenry Vineyard is a third-generation family-run Estate vineyard and winery in Bonny Doon, CA.
We have been making wine for over 40 years. Our first vineyards were planted in 1970, and our winery was commercially established in 1980.
McHenry Vineyard sits at an elevation of 1,800 ft. above the Pacific Ocean in the Santa Cruz Mountains, just north of Santa Cruz, CA.
The vineyard is on a sandy slope, surrounded by redwood forest.
Our wines are for those seeking exquisite small-batch, hand-crafted Pinot noir made in the Burgundian style.
We are part of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, which offers programs where you can enjoy all the beautiful wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
CZU Fire UpdateAt this time we are not open to the public, but we will continue to sell wine.Although we lost our winery facility (built in 1980) in the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in August 2020, our vines are still going strong and we plan to rebuild in the coming years. In the meantime, our wines will be made by the generous and highly capable hands of Ryan Beauregard at Beauregard Vineyards and John Benedetti of Sante Arcangeli Family Wines. Both of our 2023 releases were made in collaboration with Ryan Beauregard at Beauregard Vineyards. We are immensely grateful for his continued generosity as we continue with the rebuilding of our winery after the CZU fire.
This is a well-balanced and delightful wine. Light in color with warm spice, pine, and cranberry on the nose. The palette is lovely with notes of pomegranate, raspberry, and caramel.
We picked on September 27th, 2021 at 25.2 Brix and 3.3 pH. It was aged in French oak barrels. There are only 100 cases.
$48 per bottle, $490 per case (includes 15% case discount), Alc. 13.3 % by volume.
Plum and sage on the nose give way to flavors of sweet cherry and pomegranate with undertones of clay, sandy soil, and gamey meat. This superb wine makes an excellent accompaniment to any holiday meal.
We picked on September 7th, 2021 at 23.8 Brix and 3.3 pH. It was aged in French oak barrels. There are only 200 cases.

Our 2020 Estate crop was lost due to the CZU Lightning Complex Fire. To help us recover, this wine was made on behalf of McHenry Vineyard by John Benedetti of Sante Arcangeli Family Wines. The grapes are from Christie Vineyard in Corralitos, CA.
We picked on September 22, 2020 at 22.8 Brix, 0.7 TA (percent by volume), and 3.3 pH. It was aged in French oak barrels. There are only 150 cases.
